Marienplatz

took rider downtown today to the marienplatz where he was free to roam about as he desired...
it's been tough with him in the city as he wants to dart out into traffic, open every car door or go in the opposite direction....
we have been telling him no a lot which only makes him do these things more....so today we basically let him go his own direction as there are no cars allowed on the marienplatz. he really enjoyed this freedom. this is making us reconsider living in the city as there are some nice areas more to the south where things are a bit more mellow....we shall see.
in the photos he can be seen in front of the "new" town hall with its nice Glockenspiel....check out the sweet gothic styling....also, in front of perhaps (so they say) the most famous München landmark, the Frauenkirche (church of our lady)....this thing is old and has some pretty interesting history. like the fact that inside there is a footprint of the devil....more on that later.
anyway, the rain let up long enough for us to enjoy a few hours away from the flat.
yesterday we enjoyed some time in the englisher garten where papi enjoyed (???) his first run in München. apparently this garten was the brainchild of some american dude but the germans don't like to talk about this so much.
