damn that john denver had it right.
two weeks in south africa was definitely an experience but too long away from the family.
the photos are from the the pilanesberg national park and game reserve in the north-west part of south africa. something like a 2.5 hour drive from johannesburg and quite near botswana and zimbabwe. very sweet and i got nice taste of rural africa along the way.
saw some hippopotamus, white rhino, giraffe, zebra, wild swine, wildebeest, steenbok and some crazy looking birds of prey....these guys would rip your face off in a second, given the chance. unfortunately, no lion, cheetah or elephant....must have had the day off.
back in pullach, it has turned to winter. nice swing in temperature of about 70F.guess it's good for the snow situation....
